FAQ

Why is foot care important?

  • Supports mobility and balance which reduces fall risks in our senior population
  • Maintaining proper foot care is vital for a healthy lifestyle and staying active
  • As we age our flexibility, dexterity, vision, and circulation becomes compromised
  • The fatty pads on the soles of our feet become thinner due to less collagen
  • Foot skin becomes drier with age causing cracks and a papery texture
  • Toenails often grow thicker which can make them harder to trim
  • Fungal infections are more common in senior toes
  • Regular care helps prevent pain, infections, calluses, and ingrown toenails

Who can benefit?

  • People who can't reach their feet
  • Patients with neuropathy
  • Diabetic patients
  • Arthritic patients
  • Expectant and new moms

Do I need a referral to see Healthy Soles Mobile Foot Care PLLC?

No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment with Healthy Soles Mobile Foot Care PLLC. We welcome new patients. Typically, patients will see us every 2-3 months from the comfort of their home.

Do you accept insurance?

Our service is self-pay only. No insurance or Medicare is accepted - this keeps our cost below a typical doctor visit or co-pay. Payment is expected at the time of service.

How are you different than a podiatrist?

Podiatrists diagnose and treat conditions of the foot & ankle. Some podiatrists will perform routine foot care services such as nail trimming. This may be billed through insurance or it may be billed to you. That is up to the individual podiatry practice. We are here as a choice for delivering routine, gentle foot care services. We will make recommendations for further medical attention if we encounter anything that is beyond our scope of practice.

Do you carry liability insurance?

Yes, Healthy Soles Mobile Foot Care PLLC is a licensed business in the state of Texas. Each nurse is covered by liability insurance.

Do you sterilize tools?

Yes, all tools are chemically sterilized with hospital-grade disinfectant at the end of each day. They are then repackaged for the next day. Our disinfectant is effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and numerous other pathogens. We carry enough tools to provide each client with their own set of tools per each service.

"Throughout my years in nursing, I have consistently observed a significant gap in routine foot care services for seniors. Many patients suffered from painful, untrimmed toenails, with no one available to provide proper care. I firmly believe that numerous complications could have been prevented with regular nail maintenance and appropriately fitted footwear."  ~Kristi RN
